What to Bring
We recommend that you bring paper products, bath toiletries, detergents, beach towels for swimming and hot tub use, trash bags, staple items, condiments, and charcoal for outdoor grills. You may also wish to bring specialty items like blenders, large roasting pans, iron and ironing boards. Winter guests renting homes with wood burning fireplaces should bring fire starters or kindling and check to see if the homeowner supplies firewood. Grocery stores and large chain super centers are within the immediate lake area.
Linens & Towels
Each home is supplied linens and towels for the maximum occupancy and all beds will be made before you arrive. Please place all linens and towels in the plastic bins provided before departing.
Check-In
You may check-in at our Resort Rental office between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm on your arrival date. Please have proper photo identification and a credit card available. Due to the volume and complexity of our rental homes, the housekeeping staff is very busy making sure each and every property is properly cleaned so you may enjoy your vacation. For that reason we appreciate your patience and understanding in honoring the arrival time and respecting our staff’s position. You are also protected by not being held responsible for any mishaps that may have occurred by the departing guests. In rare cases a property may not be available for check-in by 4:00 pm. Please consider grocery shopping for perishables after you check-in to your rental property, as the Long & Foster rental office does not have the facilities to provide refrigeration. All paperwork must be complete prior to key release or check in is not possible.
Late Arrivals
Those arriving after 5:00 pm and who have paid their balance in full may pick up their rental packets at Arrowhead Market, 4 miles south of the Resort Rental office on Route 219. Arrowhead Market is open 24 hours a day for your convenience. All paperwork must be complete or keys will not be taken to afterhours check in. The address for Arrowhead Market is 19746 Garrett Hwy, Oakland, MD 21550.
Check-Out
Check-out time is 10:00 am. Please be courteous of the cleaning service and incoming guests by vacating the home by check-out time. The Renter’s Guide located in each home outlines departure instructions, along with them being on your check in packet. Please refer to these before leaving the property. Please leave the unit in an orderly condition. If excess cleaning or trash removal is needed, the contract holder is responsible for the charges. Return all keys to the Resort Rental office. If closed, please place keys in the drop box. Each missing key upon checkout will be a charge of $10-$75 per key and will need to be paid by credit card, check or cash.
Early Check-In/Late Check Out
It is possible to arrange an early check in or late check out for a fee if the rental and cleaning schedule permits. Not valid during Summer or when a property turns in same day. Call your Vacation Planner one day prior to arrival to check availability.
Maximum Occupancy Limits
The occupancy in a unit shall not exceed the maximum limit set at any time. No more than one unit may be rented to the same responsible party. All of our properties are privately owned; therefore it is the responsibility of Long & Foster to rent to family groups only. Sororities, fraternities, or non-chaperoned groups are not allowed. You must be 24 years of age or older to obtain a rental license. Any violation of these standards will be grounds for immediate eviction without refund.

Parking
Condominiums and townhouses are limited to 2 vehicles per unit. All other homes have a maximum number of spaces available. Cars exceeding the limit will be towed at the licensee’s expense and risk. RVs, mobile homes or boat trailers are not allowed at any condominium or townhouse. Arrangements for parking boat trailers must be made prior to arrival by the tenant and at their own expense.
Severe Weather
Frequent snowfall in the winter months is common, making this area ideal for winter sports. Take precautions with your vehicle and wear the proper clothing. Please be prepared with 4-wheel drive, snow tires, and/or chains. Cancellations due to weather conditions are non-refundable, and snow removal will be completed as quickly as possible. Delays are possible; no refunds will be given.
Mother Nature
Because Deep Creek Lake is a rural area, wild animals and people often meet under a variety of circumstances. Most creatures are wary of people and will usually leave an area when encountered. Please be aware of your trash and its abilities to attract four-legged visitors. During the year, some pests including mice and bats move indoors for shelter. If you find any nuisances when you are visiting, please call our rental office right away. Sorry, no rebates from Mother Nature.
Holidays
What better time to escape to Deep Creek Lake with your family and friends. The following holidays do require a 3-night minimum stay with us: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, New Year’s Eve, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and President’s Day. Holidays may require a 15% increase in rental rate. Please call our office for accurate price.
Booking for Next Year
We are happy to reserve your favorite vacation home for you again next year! When you reserve the same property and same time period for the following year, you will have seven full days from this year’s departure date to confirm next year’s reservation. After that time, the property will be available for anyone to book. Advance property holds will be charged a $50.00 non-refundable fee that holds the home off the market until a lease is sent in the late fall season. At that time the initial payment of 50% is required to secure the reservation. Advance property holds are not reservations, but tentative holds for that date. The hold does not lock in the current year rates. Guests have the option of declining the reservation, with no refund, after the homeowners have set their rental rates for the following year.
Mid-Stay Cleaning and Linen Service
For those vacationing longer than one week, mid-stay cleaning and linen services are available (once per week). These services are complimentary but must be requested in advance. Please contact our office as soon as possible if you would like to make arrangements.
Boats
Boat rentals are available through a number of marinas in the area. Renters are permitted to have one boat per rental unit. All boats must be launched from public ramps and never from the property shore. Boating and water skiing regulations are outlined in the renter’s guide in your vacation home. Please read regulations carefully. For example, a vessel may not exceed 26 feet in length, except pontoon boats, which may not exceed 30 feet.
Payments/Taxes
Once you have selected your rental property and dates, a Rental License Agreement will be mailed to the person making the reservation. One-half of the total rental amount is due within 5 days of making your reservation. The balance is due 30 days prior to your arrival date. We gladly accept VISA, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards, and by money order or cashier’s check. Personal checks are accepted up to 30 days before your arrival date. Please read the agreement carefully, confirm arrival and departure dates, sign the front copy, and return it within the 10 day period. We hold the person whose name appears on the lease responsible for any payments, and all other responsibilities of the license agreement.
Reservation Cancellations & Changes
We understand that sometimes it is necessary to cancel a reservation and we will do our best to re-rent your reserved property for the same rate and time period. All cancellations must be received in writing at which time the property will be made available to another guest. There is no refund unless the property is re-rented for the exact time period and same rate, at which time a $125.00 cancellation fee will be charged. Once a reservation is made and confirmed, if for any reason a change needs to be made on the same home, a $50.00 change fee will be charged. If the change involves another property, it will fall under the cancellation policy. Avoid the risk of losing your payment — ask about our Lodging Protection Program Insurance.
Lodging Protection Program
The Lodging Protection Program safeguards you against monetary loss due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness and injuries that may necessitate the canceling of interruption of your reservation. The program must be paid in advance of paying your final payment.

Accidental Damage Waiver
A mandatory, non-refundable fee with your reservation covers the possibility of charges related to minor accidental damages and/or repair. The Long & Foster Resort Rental Accidental Damage Waiver covers accidental damages up to $1,000 as long as the damage is not willful, wanton, or a result of gross negligent behavior (excludes damages caused by pets). The accidental damage waiver also does not cover extra cleaning, trash removal, or improper removal of trash, stains to the carpet or missing items. Please check the Premises upon your arrival and report any damages found, obvious missing items, or if maintenance or cleaning is needed. Failure to report any of these items prior to check-out could result in you being held responsible and a credit card on file will be charged. All of our properties are carefully inspected before and after each rental by our cleaning staff and property inspectors.
Damages to Rental Home
Your vacation home will be thoroughly inspected prior to your arrival, and once again immediately after departure. Any damages will be the responsibility of the contract holder and any charges as a result of will need to be paid in full. No exceptions.
Dogs Welcome
Many of our vacation homes allow you to bring your dog(s). Look for the pet symbol in our brochure or on our website. Most properties have a limit of two dogs per rental property. Be sure to ask the vacation planner about bringing your dog when making your reservation. A non-refundable pet fee for each dog is required. In the event a pet is discovered in or around a rental unit without the permission of the rental agency, eviction with no refund can result. Sorry, cats and other pets are not permitted.
Hot Tubs & Private Pools
Many of our homes offer private hot tubs and some offer indoor/outdoor private pools. This is not a daily service and any additional service calls will be the responsibility of the tenant to pay the hot tub provider with an additional fee. Private pools require testing to provide optimum water quality. These tests are required to insure your safety and enjoyment. Upon arrival to your rental home, please inspect the hot tub and indoor/outdoor pool before using. Please report any problems by calling our office at (301) 387-5832. No refunds!
Long Distance Calling/Internet
Many of our rental homes offer telephones with Unlimited Long Distance Calling. Many of our homes are also equipped with high speed or wireless internet. Ask your vacation planner.

We make every effort to provide you with up-to-date information, however some information may change and cannot be amended to an annual brochure. Prices and availability are subject to change. Vacation Rental Homes for Sale
Some of our rental homes are on the market for sale. So as not to interrupt your vacation, we will call in advance of any showings that are necessary during your stay. If your rental home is shown during your stay, you will receive a complimentary $10 dinner certificate. Please ask your vacation planner if your rental home is for sale and may need to be shown during your stay.
NOTE: TVs, DVDs, Air Conditioning, Hot Tubs, Grills, Dishwashers, Gas Fireplaces if there are other sources of heat, Recreational games and equipment and the like are furnished as a courtesy by the owner and are not guaranteed. Refunds will not be given due to breakdowns and we cannot guarantee a dock if after Labor Day. No exceptions.
